Mrs. Lowe died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, in Monticello Healthcare Center. Born Jan. 15, 1907, in White County, she was the daughter of David W. and Bessie M. Cornell Baer. Mrs. Lowe died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, in Monticello Healthcare Center. Born Jan. 15, 1907, in White County, she was the daughter of David W. and Bessie M. Cornell Baer. On Feb. 25, 1924, in Monticello, she was married to Arthur C. Welte, who died May 19, 1956. On Dec. 19, 1970, she was married to Homer M. Lowe, who died Nov. 27, 1983. Having lived in the Idaville and Monticello areas most of her life, Mrs. Lowe had been a resident of the care center since September 1997. She was a member of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren for more than 50 years. One of the church's oldest members, she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and served on many of the church committees. She also was a charter member of the Merri Mixers Home EC Club. Surviving are two sons, Robert C. Welte, Cherokee Village, Ark., and Larry D. Welte, Baxter, Tenn.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Audrey Ladd and Norma Jean and Floyd Sickler, all of Idaville, Lois Ann and Harold Wright, Wintergarden, Fla., and Carolyn and Richard Lawson, Cosby, Tenn.; one sister, Eileene Guthrie, Avilla; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Four brothers, four sisters, one grandson and two great-grandchildren preceded in death. The Rev. Opal Nees will officiate at the ceremony. Burial will be in Pike Creek Cemetery.
