Description	:	LAUREL - On August 7, 2008, Eva Kappel of Park City passed away at the Richardson Cottages in Laurel where she had resided for one month. Eva was born on Aug. 3, 1909, in Lefor, N. D., to Andrew and Regina (Grimm) Yurian. She lived in North Dakota until she was nine and then moved to Billings in 1919 for one year. The family then moved to the Fromberg-Edgar area where she attended school in Edgar. Her parents moved to Park City in 1929. Read More	LAUREL - On August 7, 2008, Eva Kappel of Park City passed away at the Richardson Cottages in Laurel where she had resided for one month. Eva was born on Aug. 3, 1909, in Lefor, N. D., to Andrew and Regina (Grimm) Yurian. She lived in North Dakota until she was nine and then moved to Billings in 1919 for one year. The family then moved to the Fromberg-Edgar area where she attended school in Edgar. Her parents moved to Park City in 1929. She met her husband, Joe Kappel and was married at St. Anthony's Church in Laurel in 1931. Mom and Dad bought a farm in Park City where they raised their four boys and she has resided there for 71 years. She has been a member of St. Anthony Church in Laurel all those years. Mom loved music (especially polkas and waltzes) and loved to dance to this music. She enjoyed raising chickens and gardening. Mom loved her children, and grandchildren, especially when they came to visit. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and attended the Herbstfest in Laurel for many years. Mom was always very kind and always ready to put on another plate for guests. Her specialty was chicken soup on Sunday afternoons, so her boys and friends had a hot bowl of soup after hunting. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe; son Alvin; and six brothers, Joe, John, Andrew, Nick, George and Bill. She is survived by three sons, George (Gloria), LeRoy (Norma), and Marvin (Kay), nine grandchildren, David, Debbie, Denise, Shari, Paul, Brad, Amy, Janice and Megan. Also surviving are 25 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. Her brother Frank of Park City and sister Mary of Kalispell, also survive her. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, August 11, at Smith Funeral Chapel Laurel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laurel, with interment at Park City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Park City Civic Center or a charity of your choice.
