Funeral services will be Oct. 2 at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home, with burial in the Fort Benton cemetery. Jones was born July 7, 1891, at Cando, N.D. Funeral services will be Oct. 2 at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home, with burial in the Fort Benton cemetery. Jones was born July 7, 1891, at Cando, N.D. He came to the Havre area in 1910, and homesteaded. Later he operated a harness shop in Havre. In 1930 he moved to the Great Falls-Fort Benton area but was a frequent visitor in Havre. Jones was the author of several books and other writing, much of it about Indian legends and the history of the area. His interest in folklore has been boundless. Every year he produced several manuscripts after considerable research. For the past five years Jones had been a resident at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd and the family has established a memorial to the Home. He married Hannah Paulsen in 1911 at Cando, N.D. She passed away in 1933. In 1937, at Conrad, he married Mary McDonnell, who died in 1967. One son also preceded him in death. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Harold (Marion) Britton and Mrs. Lloyd (Marjory) Blodgett, both of Loma, Mrs. Roy (Jean) Kimble of Helena, Mrs. Virgil (Laura) Cork of Missoula and Mrs. Carol (Mary Jo) Borlaug of Havre; two sons, Ben Jones of Charlotte, N.C., and Paul of Ulm.
