Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Adams, NE. Evangeline V. Oltman, 90 years of age, of Adams, NE. passed away at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, NE. Sunday afternoon, February 26, 2006. She was born on August 28, 1915 near Sterling, NE. She and Anton Oltman were married on June 30, 1940 at Diller, NE. They lived near Crab Orchard, NE. from 1945 until they moved into Adams, NE. in 1975. She was a former member of the former South St. John Lutheran Church, R. Sterling, NE. and past president of the L.C.W. at the church. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Adams, NE., and former member of the Helping Hands Club in Adams. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing cards, art work and flowers. Survivors include 2 sisters, Velma Buehler of Macon, MO. and Ruth Wilson of Sterling, NE.; nephews and nieces including Lawrence Oltman and his wife Janie of Adams, NE. and Paul Oltman of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Caroline (Joekel) Werner; husband Anton Oltman (2000); 2 brothers Milton and John Werner; and 3 sisters, Freda McAuliffe, Elda Sayler and Evelyn Oltman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Adams, NE. with Reverend Alan Gager officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Adams, NE. The body will lie in state from 1-9:00 Tuesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams, NE. and at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the church with Kent Krause in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected] They will be forwarded to the family. The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams, NE. is in charge of the services.
