Description	:	Evelyn Caroline Knudtson was born on Feb. 22, 1931 in Vivian, SD to John and Elin Stark Brown Knudtson. She grew up and attended school in Vivian, graduating from Vivian high School. She continued her education in Spearfish at the Black Hills Teachers College and taught in a rural school for a year. On Nov. 20, 1949 Evelyn married Charles Halgrimson in Vivian, SD. Read More	Evelyn Caroline Knudtson was born on Feb. 22, 1931 in Vivian, SD to John and Elin Stark Brown Knudtson. She grew up and attended school in Vivian, graduating from Vivian high School. She continued her education in Spearfish at the Black Hills Teachers College and taught in a rural school for a year. On Nov. 20, 1949 Evelyn married Charles Halgrimson in Vivian, SD. They farmed in the Presho area and she also worked as a bookkeeper in the Presho bank. In 1979, they moved to Pierre and managed the Tower Apartments. She was active in the American Lutheran Church in Presho before becoming a member of Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre and a Stephen Minister in 1991. Charles passed away March 8, 1994. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and playing with her dogs. Evelyn is survived by one son, David, 2 daughters Barbara and Claudia, 3 sisters Edith Gannon, Lillian Severyn ad Mabel Horsley, 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, many brothers and sisters and son in law Jim.
