Description	:	Obituary Evelyn Grace Roberts, daughter of Joseph R. and Delphia Verda (Means) Ridnour, was born on November 28, 1916 in Nodaway Township, Adams County, Iowa. Read More	Obituary Evelyn Grace Roberts, daughter of Joseph R. and Delphia Verda (Means) Ridnour, was born on November 28, 1916 in Nodaway Township, Adams County, Iowa. She entered into Eternal Rest on June 1, 2000 at Alegent Health - Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 4 days. Evelyn attended elementary schools in Grubb Ridge at Hacklebarney, Iowa; Weston and Mr. Pleasant near Guss, Iowa. Evelyn was married December 2, 1936 to Howard B. Roberts at Collins, Iowa. They lived on farms near Mt. Etna and in 1944 purchased the farm in Washington Township where she has since resided. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and quilting which she learned from her grandmother Means at the age of 10. Evelyn made a quilt for each of her 6 childrens 25th wedding anniversaries. she also made a quilt for each of her 19 grandchildrens' births and high school graduations. Evelyn was one of the charter members of the Windyville Neighbors Club, which celebrated its 55th anniversary this year. She also was a member of the Mr. Etna Methodist Church until it closed, after which she attended the Carbon Methodist Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 31, 1991 and a brother-in-law, Louis Lynam. Evelyn is survived by her two sons: Larry (wife Ruth) and Glen (wife Mary Lou) all of Corning, Iowa; four daughters: Lila (Mrs. Darrell) Behrens of Villisca, Iowa, Glenna (Mrs. Patrick) Day of Dexter, Iowa, Janet (Mrs. Robert) Gray of Des Moines, Iowa and Mary Lou (Mrs. Danny) Oswald of Urbandale, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters; Ruth Lynam of Corning, Iowa and Lois (Mrs. Alvin) Mitchell of Creston, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
