McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home at Wolbach was in charge of arrangements. Evelyn Cook, daughter of William and Josephine Berney Grossart, was born on a farm east of Wolbach on June 8, 1905. She departed from this life at St. Paul, Nebraska on April 28, 1986 at the age of 80 years. Evelyn received her education in rural school near Wolbach and graduated from the Wolbach High School. She grew to womanhood on the family farm. Before her marriage, Evelyn worked at the Paul Bartunek dental office in Wobach. On January 14, 1929, Evelyn was united in marriage to Everett Cook at Grand Island. The couple first made their home on a farm east of Wolbach and later in 1932, the couple moved into Wolbach, where Evelyn was employed in domestic work. Evelyn then worked with her husband for seven years at the Wolbach High School in custodian maintenance. In 1941, the couple moved to Grand Island where Evelyn operated a rooming house. The couple later moved back to the Cook home place where they farmed until their retirement in 1971. In 1971, the couple moved into their new home in Wolbach. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wolbach. She is survived by her husband, Everett of Wolbach; five sisters, Mrs. Willa Berney of Wolbach, Mrs. Agnes Patrick of Genoa, Mrs. Lillian Wichard of Minatare, Mrs. Lila Terry of Norwalk, California and Mrs. Ruby Bearbower of Wolbach; a brother, William Grossart Jr. of Grand Island; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
