Description	:	Evelyn M. Ring, age 89, passed away February 1, 2013, peacefully in her sleep. She was residing at the home of her daughter, Susan. As her wish she was surrounded by her family. Evie was born July 19, 1923, in Elm Creek, Neb., to the late Joseph and Matilda (Buettner) Grudle. She grew up in that area until the family moved to Council Bluffs in her teens. Read More	Evelyn M. Ring, age 89, passed away February 1, 2013, peacefully in her sleep. She was residing at the home of her daughter, Susan. As her wish she was surrounded by her family. Evie was born July 19, 1923, in Elm Creek, Neb., to the late Joseph and Matilda (Buettner) Grudle. She grew up in that area until the family moved to Council Bluffs in her teens. Evie married her life-time love, James "Pappy" Ring on December 31, 1945. They made their home in Neola until moving to their farm near Bentley in 1950. Jim and Evie spent their senior years in Council Bluffs up until her moving to Sue's two years ago. Evie worked for Howard Manufacturing during the war and at the age of 45 went to work at Tip Top for a number of years. After retirement she worked at the Copper Kettle near Minden, Iowa. In addition to her parents, Evie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 1994; granddaughter, Emily Rose; brothers, Ed and Jim Grudle; sisters, Eleanor Edlynd, Frances Epp and Lucille Konz; sister-in-law, her very best friend, Mary Grudle. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Gage-Lary, of Council Bluffs, Susan Baratta, of Bellevue, Neb., Geri (Jerry) Thiel, of Allen, Texas, Eileen Maahs, of Garland, Texas; sons, Martin James Ring and fiancée, Cheri Lonergan, of Omaha, Neb., Lyn Aaron Ring and wife, Michelle, of Glenwood, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson; brother, Joseph Grudle, of San Antonio, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
