Horton of Heritage Nursing and Therapy Center in Cedar Rapids, and formerly of Onslow, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998 at the Care Center of cancer. She was born on April 5, 1914 at Wyoming, the daughter of Henry and Sarah Phelps Ravenscroft and received her education in Wyoming. As a young woman, she worked at the Morse Cafe in Wyoming. She later moved to Anamosa, where she was employed at a cafe for several years and then at Kilborn Photo Paper Company in Cedar Rapids. On Aug. 24, 1957, she married Floyd Horton at Bellevue, and the couple farmed north of Onslow until her husband's death in 1970. She then moved to Cedar Rapids and in 1984, she entered the Care Center. Survivors include one sister, Charlotte (Mrs. Evan) Maloney and one niece, Cathy Mollman, both of Cedar Rapids; one nephew, James Maloney of Littleton, Colo., and one step-daughter, Lois (Mrs. Wayne) Wyeth of St. Charles, Mo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
