Mrs. Mitchum was born April 21, 1930, in Summerville, SC, a daughter of Harry Hood and Minnie Floyd Hood. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a Sunday school teacher at Cordesville and Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness churches. Mrs. Mitchum was a member of the Beta Club at Macedonia High School in 1947, was the former president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Saints Delight, and was the recipient of a number of pastor's appreciations of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed reading, being around people, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchum was the widow of Rev. James Allen Mitchum. Surviving are a daughter, Martha Mitchum of Spartanburg; a son, Kenneth A. Mitchum and his wife, Sandy, of Jamestown; two sisters, Tina Fort Easterling and her husband, Herbert, and Barbara H. Oliver and her husband, Charlie, all of Moncks Corner; seven grandchildren, David Tobin, Phillip Tobin, Tiffany Mitchum Welch, Becky Ellison, Brooke Poole, Nicholas Mitchum, and Cydney Poole; and seventeen great grandchildren.
