Read More	Evelyn Mae (Justesen) Butcher, age 97, died on January 27, 2020 at Eventide Senior Living Community in Fargo, ND. Evelyn was born on the family farm in Litchville, North Dakota to Hans and Signe Justesen on July 7, 1922. She liked to tell her story of sevens — she was born at 7:00 AM on the 7th day of the 7th month, weighed 7 pounds, and was the 7th child. She married on the 7th day of February, and, ironically, died on the 27th day of January at age 97. Evelyn had 7 siblings — four brothers and three sisters — Carroll, Helen, James, Raymond, Esther, Walter and Minnie. She attended Litchville Public School and Valley City Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. After college she taught grades 4 through 6 in a rural school east of Litchville and in Litchville Public School. Her last 7 years of teaching were in Hope, North Dakota, after which she worked as the Deputy Clerk of Court in Valley City for several years before marrying Eric Butcher in 1962. They made their home in Fargo where they resided until death. Evelyn worked at Northern School Supply and at the NDSU psychology department until retiring in 1985. Eric and Evelyn enjoyed the outdoors and the wonders of God’s creation. They had a cottage on Tamarac Lake for 38 years where they entertained relatives and guests. They traveled to England 20 times to visit Eric’s relatives and also visited Sweden, Denmark, France, Jamaica, and all of the United Kingdom. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Eric who passed away in 2017, and all of her siblings. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and acquaintances. Both Evelyn and Eric mentored students that came here from all over the United States. Her first concern in life was her personal relationship with God and to be conscious of God’s direction in her life. Eric and Evelyn were privileged to have a Sunday morning church meeting in their home for nearly 50 years and she was always aware that God needed to be the guiding influence of her life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, ND. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the center.
