JUSTESEN DIES Mrs. Spencer Brandt Septicemia Victim: End Comes In Jamestown RITES HELD IN ADRIAN Blood Transfusion Fails to Save Life of Native of the Litchville Community Mrs. Spencer Brandt, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Justesen, respected farm couple living immediately east of town, died at the Jamestown hospital at noon Sunday, July 5, a victim of septicemia. Taken ill several weeks ago, deceased was taken to the hospital and given every aid known to medical science, including a blood transfusion, but it was all in vain, and death crossed the threashold. Mrs. Brandt, nee Esther (Helen) Justesen, was born in the LItchville community October 30, 1912, and would have been 25 years old this fall. She was married to Spencer Brandt of Adrian, last winter and with her husband had established a home on his farm near that village. The young womans parents and her husband were at her bedside when the end came. Funeral services were held at the Brandt home at Adrian on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Walter Jardine, leader of the religious group of which Mrs. Brandt was a faithful member, officiated at the last rites, and interment was made in the Adrian cemetery (Mount Hope at Edgeley). Surviving, besides the young husband and the parents, are three sisters, Esther, Evelyn and Minnie, all at home, and four brothers, Carol (Carroll) of Aberdeen, S.D., and James, Raymond and Walter, also at home. This community extends the hand of sympathy to the bereaved young husband and the grief-stricken parents and brothers and sisters.
