Evelyn Gross was born on August 17, 1926 to Ray and Anna (Johnson) Noble in Wilson Township (Osceola County). She competed her education up to the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Lester Gross on April 17, 1948 in Lake Park, Iowa. The couple made their home in rural route Spirit Lake, Iowa. Lester preceded her in death in 1984, at which time Evelyn continued to make her home on the farm. She was a homemaker in life. Evelyn was a member of the Superior United Methodist Church, Superior Birthday Club, Superior Cemetery Society, and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening and crafts. She wspecially enjoyed her family and her grandchildrens' activities. Evelyn passed away on November 30, 1993 at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is survived by her children, Joyce, (mMarvin) Miller, Norman (Boots) Gross, Daryl (Bonnie) Gross, and Linda (Clayton) Seemann all from Spirit Lake, Iowa. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, brothers, Merle Noble of Ocheyedan; Art Noble of Montevideo, MN; and one sister , Fern Ketel of Sanborn, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lester in 1984, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Interment was held at the Superior Township Cemetery, Superior, Iowa.
