Read More	Everett Dale Henderson died January 16, 2015, in Wenatchee, WA, at the age of 92. He was born August 2, 1922. He was a lifetime area resident, who was born in Beebe, WA, to Leonard and Lila (Story) Henderson. He spent his childhood years in Chelan, WA, and his teen years in Wenatchee. At Wenatchee High School, he was a varsity athlete in several sports, and later a skilled boxer. He graduated in 1942, and lived in Wenatchee for the rest of his life, with the exception of his Army service years during WWII. He was enlisted in September of 1942, was stationed mostly in Australia, and was honorably discharged in January of 1946. Everett had married Evelyn Joy Otto on October 26, 1943, and at the time of her death in 2007, they had been married for 64 years. On his return in 1946, they set up housekeeping at 701 Yakima Street in Wenatchee. As their four children arrived over the years, Everett modified and expanded the house. At the time of his death, he had lived there 68 years. After more than a decade at Sears, he struck out on his own and established Henderson Appliance Repair, which he operated for 40 years. In the early years of photo-copying, he was also the area Xerox technician. In the 1950's, Everett and Joy and their children had been among the earliest members of Paul Pugh's Y.M.C.A. Family Circus, which later became the Wenatchee Youth Circus. Everett was a clown and gymnast, developing his act with his brother-in-law, Ted Otto. Everett and Joy were active in the Church of Christ, forming a youth group and taking teens to youth rallies and camps all over the Northwest in the '60's and '70's. He was in the Apollo Club for many years. He played in various softball leagues and is in the Golden Age Softball Hall of Fame. In 1976, he and Joy bought a cabin on the shore of Lake Wenatchee. Everett put tremendous energy into improving it, adding space, building a dock, then a deck, and two shop/storage buildings. The Henderson cabin has been a retreat for family, friends, churches, men's and women's groups, missionaries on furlough, and a place of solitude for individuals. It has been the site of Thanksgivings, birthdays, anniversaries, marriage proposals, bachelor weekends, honeymoons and baptisms. A longtime member of the Church of Christ, Everett in his final decade worshipped at Foothills Foursquare Church. Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Joy; his parents; his stepfather, Mac Gardner; all seven of his siblings, Dillon, Irvin, Clyde, Earl, Floyd, Hazel (Cannon) and Elton; and by his son, Chris. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Mike) Crowe, Harlan (Jean) Henderson, and Nyla (Rand) Clare; his grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy (Eryn), Jordan (Michelle), Ragan (Julie), Jonathan (Emily), Laura, Joshua (Heidie), Joel (Hope), and Lindsey (Kyle); and by 14 great-grandchildren. Everett will be remembered by all for his sense of humor, for his ingenuity in invention and repair, and for his constant willingness to listen, laugh, and lecture on his homespun philosophies. Memorial Services will be held at Foothills Foursquare Church, 315 S. Mission in Wenatchee, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015.
