McCray, 79, of Fullerton died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. The Rev. Timothy Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery. Mr. McCray was born on April 1, 1918, to Hubert and Hattie (Stark) McCray in Nance County. Timothy Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery. Mr. McCray was born on April 1, 1918, to Hubert and Hattie (Stark) McCray in Nance County. He grew up and attended Cottonwood District 51, north of Palmer in Nance County. He married Marvel Swanson on Jan. 22, 1941, at Grand Island. They farmed in Nance County and Greeley County. He also worked at the Wolbach elevator and Wolbach Oil, and worked construction on the Sherman County Dam. In 1977, they sold the farm and moved to Fullerton where he worked for the state department for several years. He enjoyed playing cards and collecting license plates, stamps and pencils. He served on the church council at Wolbach's Lutheran Church and was a past member of the Wolbach fire department and ambulance crew for 20 years. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny of Wolbach and Gary of Grand Island; two daughters, Sharon (Mrs. James) Mason of Hampton and Janice (Mrs. Kenneth) Rose of Agra, Kan.; two brothers, Robert of Wolbach and Kenneth of Palmer, three sisters, Doris (Mrs. Alfred) Berney of Brighton, Colo., Leila (Mrs. Clifford) Cyza of Alliance and Louise (Mrs. Leonard) Wondercheck of Fullerton; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson and two great grandsons.
