The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Miller, with the Rev. Richard Gould officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery. Reck Funeral Home, Miller is in charge of arrangements. Everett Raske was born July 25, 1904, at Holland, Iowa, to Hans and Hilka (Engberts) Raske. He came to Hyde County with his family in March 1910, where he attended grade school. He married Gladys Falkenhainer December 31, 1934. They lived in Hyde County for two years, and then moved to Campbell Township, Hand County where they made their home until retiring and moving into Miller in 1968. Everett served on the Campbell Township school board and Campbell Township board for many years. He was on the Coop Store Board in Ree Heights and was active in bringing REA to the community. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball. In 1933 and 1934 he picked corn in Iowa in the fall. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always enjoyed watching baseball o TV. Survivors include four daughters, Arlene (Robert) Van Der Werff of Miller, Maxine (Keith) Boersma of Beaverton, Ore., Donna (Jim) Dixon of Stanton, Neb., and Glenis (Carl) Fratzke of Beaverton, Ore.; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren; one sister, Christine Faulstich, Highmore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, eight months ago; one daughter, Marilyn; his parents; two sisters and four brothers.
