Description	:	Son of Elijah and Lila (Bonar) Parr. Employed abroad for 26 years, he considered Chanute his home since 1920. He worked for Imperial Oil Co., in Western Canada beginning in 1919. Three years later, he was sent to Columbia, South America with the Tropical Oil Company. From there he moved to Venezuela, South America, as drilling superintendent for Shell Oil. Upon his retirement from Shell, he joined the Foreign Division of Petroleum Administration for War during World War II. He served overseas with the Rainbow Division, 117th Ammunition Train, during World War I and received a purple heart. He married May Blume, Jan. 3, 1920. She died Sept. 3, 1942. He married Eva Buck, January 17, 1945. Was a member of the First United Methodist Church; 50 year member of the Masonic and Elks Lodges; Order of Eastern Star; Petroleum Production Pioneers; American Legion; World War I Veterans, Rainbow Division Veterans and the Chanute Country Club. Survivors: His wife, Eva; a son, Jay Ed Parr, Green Bay, Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Rex (Irma) Shamley, Wenatchee, Washington. Memorial held at First United Methodist Church.
