Description	:	A Lawrence man, Everett T. Mazour, 66, died Monday at his home there. The funeral will be today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence. The Rev. Thomas Au will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mazour was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Lawrence. He served in the United Slates Army in 1945 and 1946. April 9,1947, he married Verena Szopieray at Lawrence. He was the Lawrence village clerk for many years, a crop adjuster for National Wide Insurance and an officer at the Security National Bank, Lawrence, from 1960 until his death. Mazour was a member of the VFW No. 1346 and Eagles No. 592, both of Hastings, American Legion Post No. 45, Lawrence, Knights of Columbus No. 1906, UCT No. 109 and past officer of the Lawrence County Club. He also served on the Lawrence School board for many years. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Robert of Fort Collins, Colo., and Michael of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Helen Drudik of Lawrence, Mary Drudik of Nelson, Libby Nejezchleb of Fairfield and Dorothy Hrban of Seward; one brother, Jerome Mazour, Lawrence; and seven grandchildren. Superior Express January 30, 1992. ===== Funeral services were held Thursday, January 30, 1992 for Everett Mazour at Sacred Heart church (sic), Lawrence, Ne. Father Thomas Au celebrated the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Linda Ostdiek was organist and Carolyn Kohmetscher and Vicki Kucera were vocalists. Serving as pallbearers were: Larry Mazour, Ron Nejezchleb, Dennis Washburn, Lonnie Mazour, Ken Kotinek, Rich Drudik. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Fennimore (sic), Scott Hobson, Tim Kohmetscher and Scott Cowgill. Rosary services were held the night before by the Knights of Columbus and Father Au. Kent Kailey post #45 provided military rites at the graveside. Burial was at the Sacred Heart church (sic) cemetery (sic). Everett Mazour, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, passed away suddenly at his home on January 27, 1992. Everett Thomas was born to Adolph & Josephine Kotinek Mazour, on January 11, 1926 on a farm northeast of Lawrence, Nebraska. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic school in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1943. He entered the U.S. Army in February 1945 and served his country honorably in World War II until being discharged in December of 1946. On April 9, 1947 he was united in marriage to Verena P. Szopieray at Sacred Heart church (sic) in Lawrence. To this union two sons were born, Robert and Michael. The Mazour's lived on the family farm northeast of Lawrence until selling and moving to their present home in Lawrence in 1960. Everett was employed by the Lawrence State Bank, serving as an officer, until retiring to a part time position with the Security National Bank. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus, the F.O.E. and the VFW. Everett enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, visiting, golfing and playing cards. His favorite passtime (sic) was working in his shop making wooden treasurers (sic) for many to enjoy. He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant children. Everett is survived by his wife, Verena, sons, Robert of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Michael of San Antonio, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Helen Drudik of Lawrence, Mary Alice Drudik of Nelson, Libby Nejezchleb of Fairfield and Dorothy Hraban of Seward and one brother, Jerome of Lawrence.
