He had made his home in Sidney in recent years and had been employed there in the ordnance plant. Mr. Scott was taken to the hospital Friday. His death was due to hemorrhages from gastric ulcers. His death came unexpectedly. Funeral services were held at the Scotia Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. W. Buehler. Mrs. Clarence Sixel and Mrs. Floyd Vance sang "In the Garden" and "In the Hour of Trial." Mrs. M. G. Williams was at the organ. Pallbearers were F. M. VanSkike, Phil Tuma, Henry Groetzinger, Laverne Jess, Floyd Vance and William King. Internment was at the Mt. Hope cemetery, Scotia. Ashley's Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements. *********************** Everette Lloyd Scott was born on the Scott homestead southeast of Scotia on January 28, 1888, and died at the hospital in Sidney, Nebr., Sept. 30, 1956, at the age of 68 years, eight months and two days. He continued to make his home on the farm until 1943 when he retired from farming. In that same year he began employment at the Naval Ordnance Depot in Hastings. He worked there for two years and was transferred to the Ammunition depot at Sidney where he has since made his home. On May 24, 1911, he was married to Jessie Reams. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Harold Keep of Scotia, Mervin of Sand Point, Idaho, Bernard of Los Angeles, Calif., and Harlan of Sidney, all of whom survive. He is a member of the Methodist church, having become affiliated with the Lamartine church south of Scotia at an early age. At the time of his death he attended the protestant church at the ordnance depot at Sidney. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family as well as by his many friends and associates. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jessie, who died in 1938, and a brother who died in infancy. Besides his children he is survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.
