C. Reams. Rev. W. C. George will conduct the services at the Methodist church tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 and internment will be at Mt. Hope cemetery. Miller's Mortuary is in charge. *************** Scotia Register 20 October 1938 Funeral for Mrs. Scott Friday Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. E. L. Scott, who died at her home in the Lamartine community Wednesday, October 12, after a lingering illness, were held from the Methodist church Friday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. W. C. George. Internment was in the Mt. Hope cemetery here. Miller's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Harry Miller, Mrs. Earl Lincoln, Mrs. Mark Nelson, and Mrs. John Schilling sand at the services, accompanied by Mrs. H. C. Ebmeier. Pallbearers were Henry Groetzinger, Walter Klein, Myrl Vance, John Jess, Francis VanSkike, and Harold Findley. ****************** Jessie Adeline Reams was born in St. Paul, Nebr., August 23, 1890. with her parents she lived at Midway, Nebr., and Western, Nebr., moving from Western to a farm in Howard county about eight miles southeast of Scotia. On May 24, 1910, she was united in marriage to E. L. Scott. This union was blessed with four children, Mrs. Harold Keep, Mervin of North Loup, and Bernard and Harlan at home. After their marriage they moved on the farm southeast of Scotia which was her home until her passing away October 12, 1938. A lingering illness finally broke the silver cord. In 1911 she united with the Lamartine Methodist church under the administration of Rev. Chas. Ford. When they ceased to worship there, she transferred her membership, with her husband, to Methodist church in Scotia. During her illness she became more concious of the reality of the beyond. She was reconciled to her lot, but regretted that she could not do more for others. She acknowledged God's grace and goodness, contented and patient in her illness until He came to relieve her of all troubles. She expressed the confidence, with the assurance that the Lord will take care of her family, especially the two younger boys, even as she is gone. She leaves to mourn her early passing away her husband, the four children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Reams, one granddaughter, Madelyn Keep, and a number of relatives and a host of friends.
