Description	:	Evia Suzanna Blackston, 87, of 709 Lenhardt Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Pickens, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Jasper and Lola Jane Cater Kay. Mrs. Blackston retired from Alice Manufacturing Co. in 1974, and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, where she was a former teacher of Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Blackston retired from Alice Manufacturing Co. in 1974, and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, where she was a former teacher of Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her husband, Luther Columbus Blackston, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton and Ruth Blackston of Mauldin and Harold and Hazel Blackston of Easley; four daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Floyd Collins, Ollie Mae and Richard Nix, Virginia and Leland Porter, and Faye and Arnold Leslie, all of Easley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law, Grace Blackston, of Easley. Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Melvin Aiken, the Rev. Ralph Horne, and the Rev. Dr. Grady Green. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Honorary escort will be Deacons of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Wendell Collins, Dr. Barry Blackston, Keith Blackston, Kevin Blackston, Darren, Deitz and Wesley Collins. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7-8:30pm tonight and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The family is at the home of a daughter, Virginia and Leland Porter, 1029 Jameson Road, Easley, SC. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Children's Home, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC.
