Description	:	In Memory of: Clifford Hanton Francis Clifford Hanton was born at Griswold, Iowa, on March 29, 1908, the son of Frank W. and Gertrude O’Connell Hanton. He grew up and attended school at Griswold where he graduated from Griswold High School in 1925. He worked for his family’s “Griswold American” newspaper after his formal schooling, and on December 6, 1934, he was married to Lucille Olive Muller at Burlington, Iowa. They lived in Griswold until 1937 when they moved to Atlantic where he worked for the “News-Telegraph.” In 1953 they moved to Omaha where Clifford worked for the “World Herald”... Read More	In Memory of: Clifford Hanton Francis Clifford Hanton was born at Griswold, Iowa, on March 29, 1908, the son of Frank W. and Gertrude O’Connell Hanton. He grew up and attended school at Griswold where he graduated from Griswold High School in 1925. He worked for his family’s “Griswold American” newspaper after his formal schooling, and on December 6, 1934, he was married to Lucille Olive Muller at Burlington, Iowa. They lived in Griswold until 1937 when they moved to Atlantic where he worked for the “News-Telegraph.” In 1953 they moved to Omaha where Clifford worked for the “World Herald” until retiring in 1973. They moved back to Atlantic in 1979. Clifford enjoyed woodworking, photography, flowers, and his trade as printer; was a volunteer fireman while living in Griswold and Atlantic; and had been a longtime member of the Elks Lodge where he had served as Exalted Ruler in 1953. Surviving are his wife, Lucille; three nephews, Kent Muller and wife Jan and family, Gary Muller and wife Jackie and family, and Wendell Muller and wife Connie and family; and one brother-in-law Willard Muller and his wife Ruth.
