Read More	Coon Rapids Enterprise November 3, 1933 Page 5 Fanny Whitefield was born at Carduff, England, May 15, 1862, and departed this life at her home in Coon Rapids, October 25, 1933, at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 10 days. She came to America with Thos. Webber when she was about 11 years of age, settling in Linden, Minnesota. When she was fifteen she moved to Guthrie county where she grew to womanhood. On September 23, 1883, she was united in marriage to Jerry Bower. To this union were born two children, a daughter and a son. Mr. and Mrs. Bower started farming on the place now occupied by the son, Arthur. In the year 1911 they gave up farming and moved to Coon Rapids where she has since lived. She lived until it was granted to her and her husband to celebrate their Golden Wedding this fall. They kept open house and all through the day and evening friends came or sent their tokens of esteem. Mrs. Bower was confined to her bed even at that time, but she was able to shake hands and chatted with her friends, gladly entering into the spirit of the great occasion. Mrs. Bower was a constant sufferer for about eight years. She was a patient in a hospital in Omaha and also in Carroll but in spite of all efforts to help her she gradually grew weaker. She was a woman of high ideals and great helpfulness to others. So Iong as her health permitted, she gladly helped those is need and even in her last illness she remembered and inquired about the sick and the shut-in. She will be greatly missed by her relatives, friends and neighbors. Besides her husband, Jerry Bower, she leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Lillian Bower, her son Arthur and his wife and three grandchildren, Howard Bower a student at Simpson College, Helen Bower attending high school in Coon Rapids and Mildred Bower, attending the country school, one sister, Mary Liston, and two brothers, Walter Whitefield of Bayard and Arthur Whitefield of Stogursey, England, besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal church in Coon Rapids by the Rev. R. J. Arms. A quartette, George Textor, Mrs. Wellman Kretzinger, Mrs. Fred Textor and Wellman Kretzinger rendered two musical numbers, and Miss Madge Anderson sang a solo. Interment was made in the Coon Rapids cemetery with Louis Williams, Ralph Bower, Warren Bower, Lance Whitefield, Francis Whitefield and Fred Ales as pallbearers.
