Description	:	Mr. Marvin Snowden, age 72, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born September 19, 1940, in Hemingway, Marvin was the son of the late Farrar E. and Eunice Powers Snowden. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and a life-long farmer. Read More	Mr. Marvin Snowden, age 72, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born September 19, 1940, in Hemingway, Marvin was the son of the late Farrar E. and Eunice Powers Snowden. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and a life-long farmer. He also served his country in the United States Army. A member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Marvin served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday school director. He also served on the building & grounds, cemetery, and building committees. He was also a member of Indiantown Masonic Lodge 165 and served as past master. Survivors include his devoted wife of 44 years, Ann Stone Snowden; daughter, Ellen (John) Willocks; son, Farrar (Dee) Snowden; brother, Hugh (Mickie) Snowden; grandchildren, John Willocks, Jr., Dylan Willocks, Kate Willocks, Walker Snowden, Ben Snowden, Olivia Snowden, and Emma Snowden; nephew, Will (Shannon) Snowden; niece, Amy (John) Adkins; and aunt, Ann Powers. Marvin was predeceased by his granddaughter, Anna Snowden; his grandparents, Italy W. and Helen B. Powers, and Hugh P. and Lizzie Wall Snowden; and uncle, Leroy Powers. Funeral services, conducted by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 4:00PM Friday, April 19, 2013, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday, April 18, 2013. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 5542 Carvers Bay Road, Hemingway, SC, 29554 or to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC, 29440.
