Read More	Mrs. Ed Fessler died at her home on East First Street Saturday evening, October 5, 1912 at nine o’clock of valvular heart trouble. Mrs. Fessler had been in poor health for the past few years but no immediate danger of fatality was felt until last Friday night when she was taken with a sever coughing spell from which she could not get relief and her already weakened body grew weaker rapidly until death came. Mrs. Fessler’s death causes a feeling of sadness in almost every home in Villisca; there were but a few who did not know her and to know her was to love and respect her. Mrs. Fessler had lived all her life in Villisca and vicinity. For a number of years before she was married she assisted her father in his store and her she met and made many friends. In her years of poor health she was ever cheerful and free from complaining. She was always planning for the pleasure and comfort of others. She was a true wife and the hospitality of her home was felt by all who visited there. Her death is doubly sad for the reason she leaves a three weeks old baby boy, Maxwell Edward, who will never know a mother’s love, although he will be cared for by loving hands and his future is brighter than that of most babies left in this manner. Fay Dell Sandell was born three miles west of Villisca, November 1, 1881, and was therefore thirty years, ten months, and twenty one days old at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to W. E. Fessler May 19, 1906. To them two children were born, one lived by a few hours and the other, with the father and husband survive her. She is also survived by her father, W. E. Sandell and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Johnson and Mrs. Bertha Gardner of Neponset, Illinois. Mrs. Fessler was not a member of any church, but was a member of the M. E. Sunday School and was always in attendance when her health would permit. . She was earnest and active the Sunday school work and greatly endeared herself in the hearts of all the members of her class. She was a devoted Christian woman and was strong in her faith. She was known by her works. For a number of years, Mrs. Fessler had been making a collection of funeral cards printed in villisca. She had asked a prominent business man to save all he could get for her, which he did, and one of the relatives said the collection would be saved and one of her funeral cards be placed on top of the collection and kept as a fond moment of her kindness of character. The funeral services were held from the home, Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. J. W. Taylor, pastor of the M. E. Church. The singing was especially good and was a very impressive part of the service. The floral offerings were produce and beautiful making it a suitable gift of sympathy for the loss of this young life.
