Description	:	W. E. FESSLER Last rites for W. Edward. Fessler, 76, pioneer resident of Villisca were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. M. A. Robeson. Mr. Fessler died of a heart attack while asleep sitting in an easy chair in his apartment in the Miller block. He apparently had been dead several hours when found by Wes Van Valkenburg and Joe Gourley. Singing at the funeral was Mrs. Grace Nordyke and Mrs. Mabel Dunn accompanied by Mrs. H. A. Eno. Mr. Fessler was born in Eddyville, Iowa, July 3, 1876 and came to Villisca with his parents when he was 11 years old. He was married to Miss Fay Sandall and to them was born one child, Max, who now resides in Portland, Oregon. Besides his son, he leaves also a sister, Mrs. Tessie Shiffer of Villisca. His wife preceded him in death 38 years ago. Mr. Fessler was engaged in furniture business her many years from which he retired several years ago.
