Fay was born July 27, 1915 in Union township, rural Hopkinton, the son of Charles and Evaleena (Orr) Bacon. He attended rural school near his home and Buck Creek consolidated school. He married Letha L. Grapes Nov. 27, 1936. They farmed in the Buck Creek, Delhi, and Hopkinton areas until they moved to Hopkinton and he opened a service station for many years. In 1962, they moved to Florida and made their home there until moving back to Hopkinton in 1975. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Kay Francis) Griffin of Groveland, FL; and Mrs. Phil (Penny) House of Hopkinton, two sons, Charles of Hopkinton and Nickolas of Mascotte, FL, 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Vera Bacon and Mrs. Gene (Neva) Thompson, both of Muscatine, FL, and Mrs. Paul (Atha) Calahan of Huntsville, AL, and a brother, Vern Bacon of Lakeland, FL. Clifton Funeral Home, Earlville, was in charge of arrangements.
