Description	:	Fay Yvonne Sorge was born to Edward August Wilhelm and Irma Martha (Reuther) Sorge the 29th of May 1945 at the Wolf's Maternity Home, New Salem (Morton) North Dakota. Fay, the second child of five, was raised on the family farm east of Judson (Morton) North Dakota, having three brothers and one sister. Fay, the second child of five, was raised on the family farm east of Judson (Morton) North Dakota, having three brothers and one sister. Fay attended grades 1 through 6 in the Judson Elementary School in Judson, North Dakota. Grades 7 through 8 in the New Salem Elementary School of New Salem, North Dakota. Than went on to attend high school, grades 9 through 12, at the New Salem High School of New Salem, North Dakota and graduated from there. After high school Fay went on to attend Capital Commercial College in Bismarck, North Dakota. Fay married Loyd Cofield the 19th of June 1964 in Bismarck (Burleigh) North Dakota. Fay and Loyd had four children; Sandra, Sharon, James and Charles. NEW SALEM - Fay Cofield, 36, Lead, S.D., formerly of the New Salem-Judson area, was slain Saturday at her home in Lead. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery at New Salem. Fay Sorge was born May 29 1945, in New Salem, grew up and graduated from high school there and then attended Capital Commercial College in Bismarck. She married Lloyd Cofield, June 19, 1964, in Bismarck. In 1971. they moved to Lead, where she was employed in a gold mine. She is survived by her husband; four children, Sandra, Sharon, James and Charles, all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sorge, New Salem; three brothers, Edward 0., Wheatland, Wyo., Norman, Bismarck. and Ray, New Salem; and one sister, Mrs. LeRoy Heinle, Augusta, Mont. Visitation is at Buehier Funeral Chapel in New Salem.
