Description	:	Floid Hall was the son of Frank Banner and Maude Lavina Hall. His early years were spent in Nodaway County, Missouri. He attended college at Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College where he graduated in 1931 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He was married to Mabel Cox in 1935, but she passed away on 2 Sep 1936 from a congenital heart defect. Floid remarried in 1938 and produced four children, two of whom died at birth. His early years were spent in Nodaway County, Missouri. He attended college at Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College where he graduated in 1931 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He was married to Mabel Cox in 1935, but she passed away on 2 Sep 1936 from a congenital heart defect. Floid remarried in 1938 and produced four children, two of whom died at birth. Floid ran a cream station in Maryville, Missouri and did woodworking and upholstery work on the side. He moved his family to Nevada, Missouri where he taught industrial arts for two years at the high school. He gave up teaching and went to work for the government in Kansas City, Kansas, and then moved his family to Independence, Missouri where they lived until he retired from Colonial Fixtures in 1977. Following retirement, he and Mom would move back to Maryville where it all began. Dad was the most loving individual I have ever known. I never once heard him utter a swear word or say anything unkind about anybody. He was a man of deep faith and read his Bible every night. He had a brilliant mind and could do anything. He loved putting together old tube radios, restoring old furniture, becoming a rock hound and doing lapidary work. He even started making miniature dollhouse furniture and built dollhouses for his family members. He and Mom took various art classes over the years, gardened, and raised chickens and guinea fowl. They purchased my Grandmother's farm after she died and kept up two homes and properties until their health began to fail. They took many trips together, and enjoyed their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad began to lose his hearing in later years due to all the machinery he worked around for so many years. By the time his 50th wedding anniversary rolled around he had started to lose that sparkle in his eyes that I so loved. He would spend his final years in a nursing home, and preceded my Mother in death. He also preceded all but three of his nine siblings in death...Edna Hanna from Pickering, Missouri, Betty Lewis from Denver, Colorado, and Roland Hall from Commerce City, Colorado. Dad died in 1994 and I lost my heart's love. I miss his wonderful sense of humor, his laughter, his kindness, his loving ways, and his generosity. I was "Daddy's Girl," and I had the best Dad ever! I love him so much! Rest in peace, Daddy, until we are together again!

Oh, Dad, how I miss you. We were so much alike that I sometimes think we must have shared the same soul. The only difference is that I could never live up to your goodness, to a man who was the closest person to being a saint that I have ever known. You were an inspiration to all who knew you, and your life blessed us all. Your gentle ways always touched my heart, and will continue to touch me until we meet again in that great somewhere. The days come and the days go, but my love for you will always remain until I draw my last breath. Today is Father's Day and a day when we celebrate our loving papa's, but everyday is a day when I celebrate your unconditional love and the roots you have given me. You taught me so much and have been one of the most influential individuals I have ever known who has given me a map to live by that truly works. Love is the only answer in this chaotic world in which we live. I'm thankful that you don't have to see the hatred and violence that has erupted in this present world. I feel as though I live in a world where I don't belong, and I'm glad that my stay in this world is drawing to a close. I love life just as you did, but I don't understand hearts who seek to hurt and destroy the goodness that exists here. I don't understand the disrespect and hatred of people who choose to think differently than others. We have become a country that is split down the middle. United we stand, but divided we will fall. Thank goodness I have chosen my friends wisely as this bitterness does not come from them. I will continue to walk in peace and spread love by living your example.
