Description	:	Flora Elvira Foster, daughter of Leonard and Elvira Foster was born near Virden, Ill., September 6, 1860. She very quietly passed away January 13, 1961, at Roselawn Home in Geneva at the age of 100 years, 4 months and 7 days. She was united in marriage to L. M. (Cash) Bumgarner, February 28, 1884, at Springfield, Ill. To this union were born seven children, two daughters and five sons. Surviving are three sons, William of Bruning, Ellis and Byron of Strang. Read More	Flora Elvira Foster, daughter of Leonard and Elvira Foster was born near Virden, Ill., September 6, 1860. She very quietly passed away January 13, 1961, at Roselawn Home in Geneva at the age of 100 years, 4 months and 7 days. She was united in marriage to L. M. (Cash) Bumgarner, February 28, 1884, at Springfield, Ill. To this union were born seven children, two daughters and five sons. Surviving are three sons, William of Bruning, Ellis and Byron of Strang. The year following their marriage she and her husband moved to Nebraska, settling on a farm five miles east of Geneva. She has been a resident of Fillmore County since, with the exception of one year, 1887, which was spent in Kansas. Forty-three years ago, she and her husband retired from the farm and located in Geneva, where she spent her remaining years. Mr. and Mrs. Bumgarner celebrated their 50th anniversary February 28, 1935. Her husband passed away March 16, 1941. With someone to care for her, she lived in her home until seven years ago, when she entered Roselawn Home in Geneva, where she was faithfully and well cared for by Mrs. Bobbitt and her assistants. Her family was always welcome on their many visits to see her. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church for many years, and attended until health and old age made it impossible. Besides the sons, she is survived by two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends to whom she was known as Grandma Bumgarner. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death were her husband, one infant daughter, two infant sons, a daughter, Bessie DuBois, one daughter-in-law, Ethel Bumgarner, a granddaughter Norma Eppler, her parents, two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Geneva at 2 p. m. Sunday, January 15, Dr. Walter Bachman officiated. Mrs. Mervell Bumgarner sang "In the Land Where We'll Never Grow Old' and "Going Home", accompanied by Mrs. Leland DuBois. Pallbearers were grandsons, Leland and Kenneth Dubois, Mervell, Homer and Don Bumgarner and Virgil Eppler. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal January 19th, 1961 page 9.
