Her maiden name was Kiger; the "Allerdice" represented her first married surname and which was likely used when she married Roy E. McNamer in 1937. McNamer, 85, Ottumwa, former area resident, died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday April 15, 1989, at Ridegewood Care Center in Ottumwa. The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Wayne Gjerde officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery at Birmingham. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Mrs. McNamer was born Jan. 1, 1904, in Glasgow, the daughter of Orla and Grace Baldwin Kiger. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ottumwa. She married William H. Allerdice in 1923. He died Oct. 31, 1933. On July 3, 1937, in Des Moines, she married Roy McNamer, who died March 14, 1976. Surviving are a son, Miles Allerdice, of Merrimack, N.H.; a grandson; two great-grandsons and a brother, Noble Kiger of Fairfield.
