Samuel Birky will officiate services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Community Room at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Florence's name. She married Melvin Foster July 23, 1937. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2002. She retired from the H. J. Heinz Company in 1976 where she worked as a shipping clerk for nearly 40 years. She was an active member of the Evangelical Free Churches of Muscatine and of Chula Vista, Ca. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Birky and her husband, Samuel; five grandchildren, Bill Callahan, Jr., Heidi Watson, Holly Bernardi, Heather Dennis and Noelle Tavel; seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Amy, Brandon, Aaron, Brynn, Zachary and Nicklaus and one great-great-granddaughter Mollie. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Carrol Ann Callahan; granddaughter, Elizabeth and two sisters Dorothy and Helen.
