MONSIEUR TRIPLETT Florence Ethel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hess, was born in Scott county, Iowa, November 22, 1874, and passed away at her home March 8, 1926, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 16 days. When she was nine years of age the family moved to their farm seven miles northwest of Brooklyn where her girlhood years were spent and where she attended the country school. On August 29, 1894, she was united in marriage to Monsieur Triplett and they immediately began housekeeping on their farm where they still resided at the time of her death. At the age of fifteen she united with the Madison Christian Church, and remained in its fellowship, a faithful and consistent member to the end. Mrs. Triplett was the mother of four daughters, all of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Ruth Harrison of Des Moines, Mrs. Blanche Holland and Mrs. Rose Patton, who reside in the Madison community, and Eva, who is still at home. In addition to these, she is survived by her husband, her father and mother, and a brother, Lester Hess, who resides on the old home farm, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Triplett was gifted with an unusually sunny nature. She had been in declining health for several years, and had passed through periods of great anxiety because of sickness in the home, but her spirit of cheerfulness rose above it all. Her supreme life interest centered in her home, and for it she gave herself unstintedly. The family tie in the Triplett home was particularly strong. This fact finds emphasis in a very unique experience in the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Triplett. Since the beginning of their courtship they have been in each others' company every Sunday, covering a period of nearly thirty-three years--a total of 1,700 consecutive Sundays. Her death means the passing of a good woman who, in the truest sense has made a real contribution toward the enrichment of the life of the community where her life was spent. The funeral was conducted at the home in the afternoon of March 9, by Rev. W.B. Wilson, and the body laid to rest in the Brooklyn cemetery. The pallbearers were Ashley Read, A. Cleppe, Harry Tinker, Andrew Shadel, Robert Moore, and Karl Beck. Those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Triplett of Gowrie; Lena Dannon of Melbourne; Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Triplett and Mrs. Lucile Triplett Focht of Grinnell; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Harrison of Tama; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Miller and Miss Edna Miller of Oskaloosa; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Read of Ewart.
