Description	:	Florence Evers Thompson Wright, 98, of Martinsburg, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Heartland of Martinsburg. Born July 14, 1913 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Thompson and Grace H. Kershaw Thompson. She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and attended Shepherd College. Mrs. Wright worked as a cashier for Peoples Life Insurance Company from 1933 to 1942. She was a librarian at Martinsburg Public Library for nine years and also employed at Eastern Fish Disease Labor (Dept. of Interior) in Leetown for 12 years. She was an Organist at... Born July 14, 1913 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Thompson and Grace H. Kershaw Thompson. She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and attended Shepherd College. Mrs. Wright worked as a cashier for Peoples Life Insurance Company from 1933 to 1942. She was a librarian at Martinsburg Public Library for nine years and also employed at Eastern Fish Disease Labor (Dept. of Interior) in Leetown for 12 years. She was an Organist at Methodist Episcopal Church, South, for 13 years. She was chairman of Special Libraries of WV from 1969 to 1970, former president of Farm Womens Club; former president of Inwood PTA, member of Alpha Beta Alpha at Shepherd College; board member of Adam Stephens Memorial Association; board member of Berkeley County Historical Association and chairman for Darkesville Historical District Tour. She had a number of publications for the Fish and Wildlife and was editor of Fish Health News for three years, an international publication. She retired from the Dept. of Interior in 1975. She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Richardson of Fairfax, VA; three grandchildren, Chad Richardson, of Manassas, VA, Matthew and Amy Wright, of Martinsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Edgar Wright; one son, Thomas Wright; two sisters, Grace Tabler and Rebecca Newbraugh; three brothers, W. Downey Thompson, Herbert Thompson and Charles "Buzz" Thompson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev. Julie Harris officiating. Interment will be private.
