Description	:	Florence Geneva Bassinger, daughter of Jacob and Mary Bassinger, was born near Eddyville, Iowa, January 25, 1858, and died at the home of her son. Floyd H. Arnold near Cedar, Iowa, February 5, 1940 at the age of 82 years and 10 days. She was reared on the home farm east of Eddyville and attended the Eddyville high school, of which she was a graduate. Read More	Florence Geneva Bassinger, daughter of Jacob and Mary Bassinger, was born near Eddyville, Iowa, January 25, 1858, and died at the home of her son. Floyd H. Arnold near Cedar, Iowa, February 5, 1940 at the age of 82 years and 10 days. She was reared on the home farm east of Eddyville and attended the Eddyville high school, of which she was a graduate. She was united in marriage to John Arnold of near Cedar, Iowa on Nov 7, 1883 and is survived by her son, Floyd H. Arnold of Cedar, Iowa and daughter, Mrs. Jim Donnelly of Oskaloosa, Iowa and also a foster daughter, Mrs. Arthur Ward of Leon, Iowa who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold for several years. Seven grandchildren: Mrs. Orville McBurney, Raymond H. Arnold of Cedar, Mrs. Harold Allgood of Albia, Iowa, John Max Arnold, Mrs. Carroll Powers, Kenneth and Ruth Elaine Donnelly of Oskaloosa, Iowa. And six great grandchildren, also one brother, F.E. Bassinger of Brighton, Colorado and one sister, Mrs. Alma Mayer of Eddyville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away Nov. 10, 1917, and one sister. Mrs Olivia Young who passed away at Eddyville in March 1925. She attended the Christian church in Eddyville until the time of her marriage, after which she became a member of the Fairview Methodist church and later transferred to Cedar. Besides the immediate family she leaves a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, February 7, 1940, at the Eddyville M.E. church assisted by Rev. E.W. Meier of Eddyville. Music was furnished by Mrs. Dwight Picken, accompanied by Mrs. Eldon Moore of Cedar. Pall Bearers were her six grandsons. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery at Eddyville by the side of her husband, (From the Eddyville Tribune, (Eddyville, Iowa) THURSDAY, February 15th, 1940
