Eddyville Tribune, Friday, November 16th, 1917 John Arnold married Florence Geneva Bassinger, November 07, 1883, in Eddyville, Wapello County, IA. John and Florence bought 215 acres of land to the west of his parents and built a large dwelling there. John was a farmer and author of many essays and poems. Leighton and Perry Printers, of Oskaloosa, published "The Text of Book of Humanity," by John Arnold, in January 1897. He campaigned for a World Constitution. They had one natural child one adopted one child, and one foster child. Children of John Arnold and Florence Geneva Bassinger are: 1. Floyd Herbert Arnold, born August 15, 1889, in Cedar, Mahaska Co. Iowa; died April 27, 1979, in Ottumwa Hospital, Ottumwa, Wapello Co., IA., married Ida Pearl Beadle September 05, 1908, in Albia, Monroe Co., Iowa. 2.
