She was born in rural Woodson County, Kansas, on February 7, 1916, the daughter of Ennis L. and Alta Mae (Ellison) Ladd. She was united in marriage to Russell Edward Miller on October 21, 1941 in Emporia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1997. She had been a resident of Humboldt since 1938. She worked as a clerk in a grocery store and a jewelry store until her retirement in 1975. Ladd and wife Bonnie of Humboldt, KS; and a sister-in-law Greta M. Ladd of Humboldt, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell; a sister, Marie Ladd; and two brothers Carl Ladd and Warren Ladd. Funeral services will be July 2, 2008 at the Humboldt United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas. Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
