Description	:	Floyd Leo Ladd, 92, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017, at the Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas. Floyd was born December 6, 1924, the son of Ennis and Alta Ladd, at their home southwest of Humboldt. Read More	Floyd Leo Ladd, 92, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017, at the Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas. Floyd was born December 6, 1924, the son of Ennis and Alta Ladd, at their home southwest of Humboldt. He grew up attending Mound Valley grade school in Woodson County and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1942. He started farming southwest of Humboldt after high school. Floyd met Bonnie J. Bradford at the skating rink and they were married on November 11, 1951, at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute. They continued to farm a half mile from where Floyd grew up for over 50 years and he was a third generation farmer. After moving to Humboldt in 2008, Floyd continued to monitor the farm activity west of town from his living room easy chair along with taking drives to the farm and participating in the Maple Grove men’s coffee group. He was an active volunteer with the Perry Township Community School Board, Humboldt Coop, M.R.B. 4-H Club leader, Woodson County Extension Council, and Chanute FUMC committees throughout the years. Floyd enjoyed playing with and joking with children and shared his special sense of humor with all. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Marie Ladd, Carl Ladd, Florence (Russell) Miller and Warren (Irene) Ladd. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Ladd of Humboldt, sons, Alan (Christy) Ladd of Atlantic, Iowa, and Bruce (Nina) Ladd of Shawnee, Kansas, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Brian (Jillian) Ladd, Hannah, Henry and Ruth of Overland Park, Kansas; Eric (Jill) Ladd, Kinley and Brooke of Manhattan, Kansas; and Drew (Kate) Ladd, and Landon, of Olathe, Kansas; Candace Ladd, Kansas City, Missouri, Anna Ladd, Ann Arbor, Michigan and Grace Ladd, Norman, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Greta Ladd of Humboldt. Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home in Humboldt, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute, Kansas. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Kansas 4-H Foundation, First United Methodist Church or Humboldt Food Pantry and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
