Description	:	Florence Lenora Holland Versaw was born near Essex, Iowa on August 8, 1898, the oldest child of Ralph and Elizabeth Royer Holland. She died October 24, 1989 at the age of 91 years. As a Christian, she looked forwad to her heavenly home with the Lord. Her parents moved their family from Iowa to Franklin, Nebraska when she was six years old. There she received an eighth grade education in a traditional, one room school and continued her education at Franklin Academy for one year. Read More	Florence Lenora Holland Versaw was born near Essex, Iowa on August 8, 1898, the oldest child of Ralph and Elizabeth Royer Holland. She died October 24, 1989 at the age of 91 years. As a Christian, she looked forwad to her heavenly home with the Lord. Her parents moved their family from Iowa to Franklin, Nebraska when she was six years old. There she received an eighth grade education in a traditional, one room school and continued her education at Franklin Academy for one year. On March 28, 1920 she was united in marriage to Earl Versaw. They lived on a farm near Bloomington, Nebraska until 1926. Two of their children were born while they lived there. In December 1926, they moved to the San Luis Valley of Colorado, and in March 1930 moved to their farm between Center and Hooper, Colorado. Three more children were born to Florence and Earl after moving to Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Versaw, who passed away in February 1984. Survivors are sons Raymond Versaw of Grand Junction, Colorado, Ardell Versaw of Center, Colorado, and Stanley Versaw of Pueblo, Colorado; and daughters Dorothy Kirkpatrick of Mosca, Colorado and Lorene Byrd of Denver, Colorado. Nineteen grandchildren survive and twenty-nine great grandchildren. One grandson, John Kirkpatrick, preceded her in death. A brother, Ray Holland, resides near Center, Colorado. Another brother, Clarence, also preceded her in death. Florence will be remembered as a Christian, caring mother and a gentle lady who loved beautiful things. She was always busy and liked to sew and crochet when her schedule permitted. She also enjoyed music, especially hymns. During the years of raising her family, she helped raise a large garden and did lots of canning to help feed her family. She is sorely missed by her loved ones.
