Butler, 89, of 5216 92nd St., died at 11 p.m. Nov. 24, 1995, at Sigourney Care Center in Sigourney. She was born May 23, 1906, in Finney County, Kan., to Edward and Emma Melott [sic] Craft. She married Samuel L. Butler Nov. 3, 1923. She lived most of her life in Iowa and Missouri and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by four sons, Ray of Bevier, Mo., Sam of Fremont, Tom of Douds and Michael of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Lucille Shepherd of Bevier,, Mo., and Agnes Walker and Nova Holtzinger, both of Ottumwa; 30 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Donald; a brother and a sister. The service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander-Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Harlan Winter of Douds United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
