Floyd attended the rural schools of Adams township and graduated from Coggon High School in 1930. He was united in marriage with Edna L. Keebler on February 22, 1939 at the Peace Lutheran parsonage in Ryan by Rev. E. Senst. He lived all of his life in Ryan and was a retired farmer. Floyd was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran church, Ryan. He served in various offices and was at present on the Cemetery board. He also served on the Ryan Co-op board for several years and was a member of the Jolly Senior Citizens Club. Floyd passed away Monday, Sep. 9, 1985, at his home in Ryan, IA. He had attained the age of 75 years, 2 months and 17 days. He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife, Edna Wenger of Manchester (Good Neighbor Home), one daughter, Mrs. Ned (Mary E.) Minehart of Brooklyn, IA; 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert of Manchester; one sister, Hazel Keebler of Ryan; 1 niece and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Albert and Clarence and 1 brother in infancy. May he rest in peace and may the eternal light shine upon him. "He leadeth me: Oh, blessed thought! Oh, words with heavenly comfort fraught! Whatever I do, wherever I be, Still tis God's hand that leadeth me. And when my task on earth is done When by thy grace the victory's won, Even death's cold wave I will not flee, Since God through Jordan leadeth me."
