A native of Cherokee County, he was the widower of Mary Lanier Jolly and son of the late Croff Jolly and the late Marie Littlejohn Jolly. He was a retired salesmen from Gaffney Retread & Recap Company and was a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Margie Alexander of Blacksburg; two sons, Jack Jolly of Gaffney and Larry Jolly of Greenville; a sister, Era Mae Earls of Gaffney; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
