Description	:	Grandpa was a sharecropper so he never owned his own farm. When he retired from sharecropping, he rented the same house that him and Granny had always lived in. He grew all their own food and also loved to fish and hunt. He was a tall quiet man with a hearty laugh. I remember him laughing at my PaPa and uncles but I don't remember him having much to say. I know that is just the way in seemed to a little girl but he had to stoop over to come through the door so he was well over 6 foot. Him and Granny lived in Gaffney in Cherokee Co., SC. Granny died May 6, 1969 and after that, Grandpa would stay at home some and stay with MaMa and PaPa some. He would just sit for hours and stare off into space or down at the ground. He only lived a little over 2 months after Granny passed. He died peacefully in his sleep of a broken heart. True soul mates!
