Read More	Wenatchee World - January 06, 1995 WENATCHEE _ Floyd W. Rambo, 72, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1995, at his home. He was born Aug. 29, 1922, to Ralph A. and Essie E. (Tyree) Rambo at Twisp. As a young boy he moved with his family to the Sunnyslope area. He received his early education at Sunnyslope and Monitor, and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1941. Immediately following his high school graduation he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during World War II with the South East Asia Command of the Air Corps. He also served in Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. He received his discharge in 1946 and returned to Wenatchee. He married Mary M. Cameron on Oct. 15, 1948, at Wenatchee. Mr. Rambo began working for Central Tractor as a heavy duty mechanic. The family moved to Seattle in 1962 and Mr. Rambo worked as a field service mechanic throughout the West. He worked on a construction project in the mid-1960s in the Grand Canyon to carry water from Bright Angel Creek in the Grand Canyon to Grand Canyon City at the top of the canyon. Mr. Rambo turned the first shovel of dirt on the project which was the first construction job to take place in the canyon. The family returned to Wenatchee in 1966 and Mr. Rambo worked for the Department of Transportation as a heavy duty mechanic, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Wenatchee River Gun Club, the North Central Washington Gun Club and was a past member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the Association of State and Federal Maintenance Employees, and the Department of Transportation Retirement Association. Mr. Rambo is survived by his wife, of the home; two daughters, Loretta ``Lori'' Smet of East Wenatchee and Marilyn ``Lynn'' Rambo of Chinook, Mont.; his sister, Irma Marr of Everett; two grandchildren; and three nieces. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.
