He was the husband of the late Hazel D. Ward, who predeceased him in 2008. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Arthur and Hazel Agnes Ward. He was also predeceased by his 4 brothers and a sister, Harry, Hazel, Barney, Frank and recently James from Westminster. Surviving are his son, Clifford Shifflett from Brunswick, sister, Mary Yates from Boyds and brother, William Ward from Williamsport, along with many nieces and nephews. Forrest served in the Philippines during WWII and was an active member of the Frederick County AMVETS Frederick Post #2 and the local VFW. He worked for the Montgomery County Public Works Department until he retired in 1980. Later he worked for JJ Mulldoon and Washington Carpet until he and his wife moved to Frederick in 2001. Tommy really enjoyed his family and friends in Whittier, where he resided for the past 15 years. He will be missed by all. The family will be receiving friends from 5-8 pm on July 1, 2016 at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD (hiltonfh.com) where funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Monocacy Cemetery, 19801 W Hunter Rd, Beallsville, MD 20839. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Hospice of Frederick County. Arrangements were made by Hilton Funeral Home.
