Description	:	Forrest W. Anderson, 91, of Burdick, died Friday evening, April 17, 2015, at the Via Christi Medical Center, St. Francis, in Wichita. He was born in Burdick on September 7, 1923, in the house where he was born, raised, and lived all of his life. He was the son of Wilbert J. and Grace D. (Lough) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He retired after 59 years as a farmer and a stockman. He enjoyed pitching horse shoes and playing softball. Anderson, 91, of Burdick, died Friday evening, April 17, 2015, at the Via Christi Medical Center, St. Francis, in Wichita. He was born in Burdick on September 7, 1923, in the house where he was born, raised, and lived all of his life. He was the son of Wilbert J. and Grace D. (Lough) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He retired after 59 years as a farmer and a stockman. He enjoyed pitching horse shoes and playing softball. He graduated from the Diamond Valley High School with the class of 1941. He married Marie Tiemann June 20, 1948, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Herington. Several years ago he and his wife were Grand Marshals for the Burdick Labor Day Celebration. They were loyal supporters of the Burdick community. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie, and his parents. He is survived by a daughter Karen Korte and husband Gary of Emporia; a sister Maurine Johnson of Lindsborg, grandchildren: Erik Korte (wife-Sarah), Ian Korte, Erin Hauser (husband-Jayson); and a great granddaughter Mackenzie Karen Korte. The family requests memorials to the St. Paul Lutheran Church; and they may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory-Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS 67449-3038.
