Description	:	1.) Frances Aleen "Bobbi" McFarland, daughter of Delbert 0. and Marie Smith, was born September 16, 1909 in Harrison County, Missouri and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa on September 21, 1979 at the age of 70 years and 5 days. Bobbi grew up and attended school in Eagleville. On August 27, 1928 she was united in marriage to Walter Wayne McFarland and to this union eight children were born. Frances Aleen "Bobbi" McFarland, daughter of Delbert 0. and Marie Smith, was born September 16, 1909 in Harrison County, Missouri and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa on September 21, 1979 at the age of 70 years and 5 days. Bobbi grew up and attended school in Eagleville. On August 27, 1928 she was united in marriage to Walter Wayne McFarland and to this union eight children were born. Bobbi and Wayne spent most of their married years on a farm near Terre Haute until Wayne's death in 1958. Bobbi continued to live on the farm with Linda and David until 1969 when she moved to Davis City. Besides being a substitute rural mail carrier for some 30 years, she was also an offset printer for Smith Brothers and Graceland College. Bobbi took an active interest in Leon and Larnoni community affairs, including being a volunteer for the Leon Hospital Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Red Cross Blood Bank. Even with all these activities, Bobbi still found time for her own creativity. She enjoyed writing poetry and has entertained many an audience with her extemporaneous speaking. In her idle moments, which were few, Bobbi crocheted over fifty afghans for family, friends, and community donation. Bobbi will always be remembered for her kindnesses, willingness to help others, and her unusual strengths. Bobbi was also proceeded in death by her son, Jack, in 1968. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Boord and her husband, Cal, of Pelican, Alaska; and six sons: Jim and wife, Ruth, of Earlham; Doug and wife, Marie, of Davis City; Don and wife, Dorothy, of Seattle, Wash.; Larry and wife, Clara Ann, of Des Moines; Roger and wife, June, of Carlsberg, Wash.; and David and wife, Joy, of Lihue, Hawaii; and sister Josephine Outhouse of Galena, Mo. Bobbi's memory will be carried on in the love she gave her 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service was held September 26, 1979, at the Davis City R.L.D.S. Church in charge of the Slade Funeral Home of Lea, Iowa. Officiating were Elders Leonard Boswell and Bob Ballantyne. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Lamoni. She was the daughter of the late Delbert and Marie Smith. Services will be Tuesday at the RLDS Church in Davis City. Burial in the Rose Hill cemetery at Lamoni.
