Read More	The Hooper Sentinel Jan. 12, 1950 Mrs. Richard Stroh Succumbs After a Long Illness Mrs. Richard Stroh, 64, wife of one of Hooper's prominent business men, passed away at 9:45 Sunday morning at the Dodge County Community hospital. Mrs. Stroh had been ill for many years, suffering with diabetes. On January 2, her condition grew more serious, and she was unable to take food. She became weaker, and lost consciousness late Wednesday afternoon, when when was taken to the hospital in Wollmer & Warnels ambulance. She did not regain consciousness, and sleep quietly away. Hooper business houses were closed during the service hour in deference to the deceased and her family. Rev. Wm. C. Kieffman said the Rosary in a service at the ollmer & Warne chapel at 7:30 Monday evening, and conducted funeral service Tuesday morning at the St. Rose of Lima church. Mrs. Coletta Hoskinson, organist, accompanied the quartet which sang; Mrs. Westphalen, Mrs. Stiles, Mrs. Arnod Witt and Mrs. Nick Heywood. The pallbearers were Howard Parkert Sr., Peter Parkert, Roy Bott, George Looschen, Jerome Harms and August Harms. Interment was in the Hooper Cemetery. Frances Ann Lammers, daughter of Herman and Gertrude Lammers, was born at West Point Dec, 10, 1885. On June 9 1909, she was married to Richard Stroh of Hooper, in Fremont. To this union three children were born; Marjorie, who passed away at the age of 7; Virginia Frances Carlson of Hooper, and Marlyn Richard Stroh of Fremont. During most of the forty years that Mrs. Stroh made Hooper her home, she was prominent in church, club and civic affairs. She was a devoted wife, and mother, and her home and family came first in her thought and life. Her interests were varied, however, and she found time to lend her efforts and support to projects for community betterment; and to make a wide circle of friends who missed her sadly when illness prevented her from continuing with her busy schedule. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima church, and of the church Guild. She was a charter member of the Hooper extension Club, and belonged to many other social groups. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Virginia; and son, Marlyn; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Hunt of Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Felix Buckner of Platte Center, Nebr. and two brothers H. J. Lammers of Dallas, Texas, and Benjamin Lammers of Los Angeles, Calif. On sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
