Mrs. Dezellem was born July 23. 1899, in Lily, South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Lulu (Rarick) Rice. She graduated from Bellingham Normal School and North Western Washington State College in 1919. Mrs. Dezellem came to Bridgeport and taught school and at the Sunnyside School on Dyer Hill. She was married to Oliver Dezellem May 31, 1921, at Okanogan. They farmed on Dyer Hill until 1970 when they retired from active farming and moved to Bridgeport. She enjoyed... She enjoyed gardening, reading and horse racing. Mrs. Dezellem is survived by a son, Ronald Dezellem of Bridgeport; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Kathryn) Shelton of Camano Island, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Pease of Milton, Mrs. Dan (JoAnn) Cowell of Scotts Valley, California; sister, Mrs. Wm. (Violet) Parks of Bradenton, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two infant daughters. Services were held Friday, October 19, at 1:00 pm from the Barnes Chapel wit Rev. Larry Trim, officiant. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
