Mrs. Frances D. F. Boling was the victim of an accident two weeks ago which resulted in her death Sunday. Mrs. Boling was canning grapes and following her usual custom, poured a little alcohol on the top of the fruit after it was in the jar. Some of the alcohol was spilled on the stove and exploded and she was badly burned on one arm and about her head. Her burns had begun to heal some and her relatives were beginning to feel hopeful of her recovery. She was seized with a fainting spell Sunday morning and died in a few hours. Mrs. Boling was born in Anhalt, Dresden, Germany April 17, 1831, and was therefore a little past 78 years old. Her maiden name was Schmidt. She was married to Henry Doling May 22, 1849, and this union was blessed with ten children Mr. Boling died some sixteen years ago. Seven years after their marriage, they emigrated to America and located at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They resided there until 1866, when they removed to Missouri. The ten children are living, except one, a daughter who died at the age of nine years, shortly after coming to this state. The sons are: Max, Hugo, Henry, William, Paul, Enno and Hans, all of Shelby county; the daughters: Mrs. G. A. Weisonborn of near Clarence, and Mrs. Peter Jochim, of Bucklin. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Schmidt, and twenty-four grandchildren. Mrs. Boling was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and lived according to the teachings of her faith. She was a woman who was an optimist by nature, unusally active for her age and her family often said that "Grandma," as she was lovingly called, would live to reach the century mark. She was greatly beloved by all who knew her. The funeral services were held at the family residence yesterday afternoon, conducted by Reverend Johnson, and the remains laid to rest in the family burial grounds. Mrs. Frances Boling died at her home, west of Lentner, Sunday from the effects of burns which she received two weeks ago, while putting up fruit. She was canning grapes and following her usual custom, poured some alcohol on the fruit after it was in the jar. She accidently spilt some of the alcohol on the stove, causing an explosion which badly burned one arm and her head. Her condition was not considered serious until Sunday, when she suffered an attack of heart trouble and expired shortly thereafter. Deceased was born in Germany, April 17, 1831, and was married to Henry Boling, May 22, 1849, who died sixteen years ago. They came to America in 1856, locating at Milwaukee, Wis., and in 1866 they moved to Shelby county. She is survived by nine children, who are: Max, Hugo, Henry, William, Paul, Enno, and Hans, all of Shelby county, the daughters: Mrs. G.P. A. Weisonborn of near Clarence, and Mrs. Peter Jochin, of Bucklin. Deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and was an earnest christian woman. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Johnson, of Clarence, were held at the family residence Tuesday afternoon, after which the remains were interred in the family burial ground.
